Clyde Ray Goudeau

December 24, 1931 — May 7, 2017

Clyde Ray Goudeau, 85, passed away in a local hospital on Sunday, May 7, 2017 after a brief illness.

 

Mr. Goudeau was born on December 24, 1931 in Bunkie, LA and was the oldest of seven children. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from March 8, 1952 to March 7, 1956. It was during this time that he met the love of his life and wife of fifty-eight years, Aline Boutwell Goudeau. Clyde was an Air Traffic Controller for thirty-seven years. In his spare time he loved to fish. He also was considered the “Family MacGyver” and was always repairing anything that was broken or malfunctioning. He was also a “Professional Artist”, adding his stick figure drawings to cards, napkins, letters and random notes. Clyde was an avid fan of the Weather Channel and Sunday Football.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Larry Goudeau; daughters, Theresa (Frank) Ardoin of Austin, TX and Jennifer Thibodeaux; grandchildren, Branden (Mike), Jillian (Alex), and Lindsey (Chris) Ardoin, Kristen and Ryan (Tracey) Thibodeaux and Elizabeth (Scott) Lyons; great-grandchildren, Amelia Orvis and Kaiya Ruiz, Kyle Thibodeaux and Wes and Lucy Lyons; brothers, Herbert (Alice) Goudeau and Donald Goudeau, all of Bunkie, LA; sisters, Genovieve Kelley, Emma (Roy) McCoy and Adine (Steve) Gaspard; extended family members, Tommy Thibodeaux, Marla Goudeau and Mary Ann Brabner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Boutwell Goudeaux; parents, Rufus and Mary Jussein Goudeau and a brother, Jerry Goudeau.

 

Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Anthony Pousson will officiate. Visitation Wednesday will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
