Connie Rae LaBove McCain Carson, 72, of Ragley passed away at 12:35 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 in a local hospice facility.
Mrs. Carson was born on June 3, 1952 in Lake Charles and was a resident of Ragley for the past 19 years. Connie went to Grand Lake High School, attended Sowela Tech where she took a secretarial course, and then joined the firm of MQB in January of 1978. She was the tax secretary for 21 years until she married and moved to Crosby, TX in 1999. Five years later she moved back to Louisiana and rejoined the firm in January of 2004. Resuming her previous job as tax secretary, she retired in May of 2018 but returned to work part time. Mrs. Carson attended St. Margaret Catholic Church, serving as an usher for 18 years.
Her greatest pleasures were spending time with family, antiquing, and going on trips with the girls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Waybern and Velta Hebert LaBove.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 24 years, Charles Thomas "Tommy" Carson; children, Lucas McCain (Angela), Travis McCain (Nikki), Jake McCain (Kelly),Troy Carson, and T.K. Cooper (Roger); seven grandsons, Wyatt and Hunter McCain, Hayden and Collin Bruns, Ethan Tucker, Davis and Andrew Carson, two granddaughters, Callie McCain and Maddie Carson; sisters Diana Boerema and Vickie Monceaux (Mark); brothers, Rickey LaBove (Brenda) and John LaBove (Kathy); and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Prabhakar Kowtiki will officiate. Burial will follow in Grand Lake Community Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 11:30 AM until leaving for the church at 1:00 PM.
