Connie J. David

Connie Joy (Broussard Burrow Ford) David, 64, succumbed to her Mitochondrial Myopathy Disease at 4:25 PM on Saturday, February 16, 2019 in a local hospital.

Mrs. David was born December 26, 1954 in Lake Charles, LA, where she lived most of her life.  She was a 1972 graduate of LaGrange High School and was still active with her monthly class meetings.  She worked as a paralegal for a number of years and then graduated from McNeese State University with her bachelor’s degree in Finance.  She was an active and longtime member of University United Methodist Church.  Mrs. David was also a member of the Gulf Coast Bird Club and enjoyed photographing and watching birds and butterflies.  She also enjoyed making prayer beads, ballroom dancing and was always on the go.

Mrs. David is survived by her beloved husband, Manuel J. David of Sulphur; daughter, Jennifer Hebert and husband Travis of Lake Charles; sons, Chris Ford and wife Laurie of Cypress, TX, Scott Michael Ford of Lake Charles, and Ryan David of Greenville, TX; sisters, Fran Gladden and husband Buck of Baton Rouge, LA and Vonda Broussard of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren, Ezra, Noah, Lois Editha, Enoch, Silas, Elijah, and Joel Hebert and Aubree, Emerson and Bennett Ford; along with eight nieces and nephews, her dog, Gidget and her cat, Ziva.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kirby and Edith Broussard; brother, Michael Ray Broussard; and sister, Janet Broussard.

Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Prayer Gardens of University United Methodist Church.  Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.  A Gathering of family members and friends will be at the Wesley Center on E. Sale Road following the service.
