Constance "Connee" Mcdowell Houk

Constance Lucy McDowell Houk, 92, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 10:25 AM on Thursday, August 16, 2018 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Connee was born September 19, 1925 in Rochester, NY. She traveled with her husband’s military career before settling in Lake Charles. She also lived a few years in Baton Rouge, LA and Houston, TX before moving back to Lake Charles to be closer to her daughter. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Women’s Shelter and loved to travel. She was an excellent cook and will be remembered for her wonderful Italian dishes. She had a great love for her family, whom she was very close to and loved to entertain.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Ann McCleary of Lake Charles; only grandchild, Benjamin Allen Tuety and wife Suzi of Katy, TX; and great-grandchildren, Kalen Frances Tuety and Jace Robert Tuety.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years and father of her children, Robert Herschell McDowell, Sr.; son, Robert Herschell McDowell, Jr.; and two brothers, Carl Lucy and Eugene Lucy.

Her memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Ronnie Estes will officiate. A gathering of family members and friends will be on Monday from 4:00 PM until the start of the service.
