Coolidge Fontenot

Coolidge Fontenot, 93, of Lake Charles died Friday, November 2, 2018 in a local healthcare facility.

Mr. Fontenot was born in Kinder, raised in Fenton and has lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School. He worked forty-five years as a Glazier for Davidson Sash & Door, Inc. He was an avid sports fan. During his younger years, he enjoyed taking his sons to baseball practice and has always enjoyed watching baseball and football games. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife. His passion was woodworking; having been really talented, his signature pieces being: wagons, wheelbarrows, benches and baskets. He was a member of Lake Charles Bible Church for countless years. Mr. Fontenot was an admirable man of his generation, a man of family and faith; who was kind, honest, giving and hardworking.

He leaves to honor his memory, his daughter, Cindy Ardoin and husband J. of Moss Bluff; son, Danny Fontenot of Westlake; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Jane Foreman and husband Wilford of Alvin, TX and dear friends, Paul and Avis Musgrove of Sulphur.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty seven years, Eunice Fontenot; son, Phillip David Fontenot; parents, Alcede and Xzelia Fontenot and two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, November 5, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Phil Carpenter and Reverend Don Barrett will officiate. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation Sunday will be from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM and will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
