Corbutt Layne Fournerat, 68, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 4:05 PM on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in a local hospital.
Corbutt was born May 27, 1950 in Kinder, LA, and was a life-long resident of Lake Charles, LA. He attended LaGrange High School and during his younger years, worked as a butcher at George Theriot’s. He later owned and operated his own lawn service. Corbutt loved and adored his family dearly, especially his mother, who was under his care. He was an excellent cook, with a heart of gold, and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. His kind and gentle spirit will always be remembered.
Corbutt is survived by his mother, Esther Johnson of Lake Charles; son, Darryl Cormier of Lake Arthur, LA; siblings, Rona Denton and fiancé Chris Kottemann of Lafayette, Gerald Fournerat and wife Kayla of Lake Charles, and Diane Peterson and husband Bill of Waco, TX; step-siblings, Dorothy Andry and husband Bud of Longville, LA and Robert Johnson and wife Kathy of Longville, LA; nieces and nephews, Sara Kelley and husband Jon, Matthew Denton, Lauren Denton, Aubrey Denton, Darren Fournerat and wife Jenée, Julie Chemino and husband Daniel, Kati Hinch and companion Marc Mueller, and Ginny Peterson; and numerous other family members that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gradie Fournerat; step-father, Adam Johnson; step-brothers, Hubert Johnson and Rodney Johnson; and niece, Hailey Hinch.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon George Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery in Elton, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Sunday from 12:00 PM until the start of the service.
