May 29, 1945 — May 21, 2025

Cynthia Ann Nereaux Gardner, age 79, passed away on May 21, 2025, surrounded by loving family members. She was born on May 29, 1945, in New Iberia, Louisiana to Walter Louis and Irene Myrtle Alexander Nereaux.

She married Robert Edward Gardner of Hattiesburg, Mississippi on April 21, 1963 and was wed until his passing in November of 2010.

If the doors of the church were open she was there.

She later moved back to Louisiana to live in Westlake with her family. In her mid 40's she decided to join the workforce and earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification from Sowela Technical Community College. She then went on to serve with compassion in area nursing homes for 15 years.

Cynthia lived a life marked by her great love for the Lord, her family, and her church family.

She was a faithful member of the First Pentecostal Church of Westlake where years ago she wholeheartedly loved working with the Sunday School bus ministry. Many that knew her, knew her as a Prayer Warrior.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Randy Dean Gardner and wife Analee of Ingleside, TX, Shandle Lier Moss and husband Boyd of Westlake, LA, Lonnie Hans Gardner and wife Cynthia Lanie of Santa Fe, TX and daughter in law Laura Gardner of Silver Point, TN.
