Cyril Anthony "Tony" Porche Ii

Cyril Anthony “Tony” Porche, II, 58, of Cameron went to meet his Lord at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 25, 2016 in his residence.

Tony was born on November 16, 1958 in Cameron, LA where he lived all of his life and was a graduate of South Cameron High School.  He was a commercial fisherman before opening up and operating “Tony’s Welding Service” for 20 years.  Tony was a devoted member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Cameron where he was a Eucharistic Minister.  He was also a Fourth Degree Knight and an ACTS Brother.  Tony was a fisherman of men to serve the Lord.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Patsy Miller Porche of Cameron; three sons, TJ Porche (Teressa), Gabriel Porche of Cameron, and Jacob Porche of Dequincy; four sisters, Mary O’Rourke (Don) of Lafayette, Sybil Higginbotham (Shane) of Many, Gaylyn Whittle (Don) of Many, and Marilyn DeLaunay Voochiers (Mike) of Cameron; one brother, Alan Porche (Lisa) of Baton Rouge; three grandsons, Christian, Jonathan, and Ashton; and one on the way, Gavin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nealie and Cyril Anthony Porche.

A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Cameron.  The Rev. Babasino Fernandes will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the Life Center of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole, LA.  A Catholic Daughter’s rosary will be recited in the church at 6:00 PM followed by an ACTS rosary.  Visitation will resume on Wednesday in the hall from 8:00 AM until leaving for the church in Cameron at 12:30 PM.
