Iowa – Dale Joseph Miller, Sr., 79, passed away in a local hospital Monday, April 27, 2015.
Dale was born in Grand Chenier on March 23, 1936 to the late Dallas and Effie (Broussard) Miller. He was a graduate of Sowela Tech and employed as a welder for Mike Hooks, Inc. for over 50 years. Dale was a member of St. John the Evangelist in Lacassine and served in the U. S. Army Reserves for 2 years. He enjoyed campouts, fishing, and gardening and was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Nell Miller; children, Dale Joseph Miller, Jr., Monique Miller (Joe Messina), Dwayne Miller (Debra), Theresa Miller, Angela Miller (Anthony Marquez), Stacy Miller (Wendy Duhon), LaDonna Miller and Lynette Galvez (Don); 12 grandchildren, Devon Miller, Mathew Miller, Breanna Floyd, Dylan Miller, Kolby Miller, Payton Miller, Emma Miller, Jared Miller, Erica Miller, Hannah Miller, Madison Miller, and Tyler Miller; 1 great-grandchild, Gracie Pitre and one on the way, Jace Pitre.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. John the Evangelist in Lacassine on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Father Anthony Rojo officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation begins Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home and will continue Thursday from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
