Dana Christian Guth, 70, of Lake Charles died Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in a local hospital.
Mr. Guth was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Lake Charles High School and McNeese State University where he attained a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of St. Luke Simpson Methodist Church, where he ran the sound system for many years. He enjoyed putting together and building electronics and at one time built his own home stereo system using electronic components. He also enjoyed exploring the web. Mr. Guth will be most remembered for Faith in God and his devotion to his family.
He leaves to honor his memory, his wife of forty-nine years, Betty Kay Guth of Lake Charles; one son, Michael Stephen Guth and wife Jean Guth, both of Sydney, Australia; one granddaughter, Hannah Victoria Guth of Sydney, Australia; one brother, Ron Guth and wife Carol of Goshen, Indiana; one sister, Lylln Guth Brinkman and husband Rick Brinkman of Mandeville and niece, Gretchen Price of Seattle, WA and nephew, Ronnie Guth of New Orleans.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle W. and Margaret Newcomer Guth and son Charles Christopher Guth. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Amy Castro and Rev. Mark LaFortune will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation Wednesday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
