Iowa – Daniel Scott deLaunay, 27, passed away in a local hospital February 19, 2017.
Daniel was born in Lake Charles on October 13, 1989, he was the son of James and Christine (Shortridge) deLaunay and a graduate of Lacassine High. He was a member of the Lacassine Knights of Columbus. Daniel loved Buddy Ball and played in the Moss Bluff League.
He leaves to cherish his memory his parents; brothers, James Eric deLaunay (Miriam) and Michael Joseph deLaunay; grandmother, Claire Shortridge and niece, Isabella deLaunay.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Church on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Father Whitney Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation is Thursday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. and will resume in the funeral home on Friday from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
