Daniel Lampson

November 28, 1975 — May 14, 2021

Heaven gained an angel on Friday, May 14th, 2021.

Daniel Gene Lampson, 45, of Pace, Florida passed away in a Pensacola, Florida hospital.  Daniel was born on November 28, 1975 in Fort Worth, Texas and lived his childhood in Lake Charles, Louisiana where he was a graduate of Barbe High School.  He furthered his education in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, getting an Associate Degree in Resort Management from Colorado Mountain College.  Daniel worked in the Lake Charles area before moving to Stewart, Florida to pursue a career with American Custom Yachts.  He moved back to Lake Charles to be with his family and was a member of Christian World Church and later the Apostolic Temple Pentecostal Church.  His love for the ocean and boats led him back to Florida, to the city of Pace, three years ago to work for Cape Horn Yachts, where Daniel had the freedom to enjoy Pensacola Beaches on a regular basis.

He had a passion for offshore fishing.  Along with his love for the ocean and boats, he adored all animals and had a deep compassion for them, especially for his loving companion, Que Mas, a beautiful white lab.  Amongst all the things he loved, his family was above all.  Daniel was a devoted family man.  To know him was to know love, loyalty, an infectious laugh, and teddy bear hugs!

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Dr. Gene and Shively Lampson of Lake Charles; siblings, Emily Landry (Jared) of Tennessee and their daughter, Adriana Matlock, Thomas Lampson (Melanie) of Lake Charles and their children, Jake Aucoin and Antonio Lampson, and Shively Michelle Lampson of Saugerties, New York and children Bayzel and Ocean Lampson; aunts, Janet Lampson of Reno, Nevada, and Nomy Lampson of Hempstead, Texas; uncles, Bob Ford of Silsbee, Texas; uncle, Congressman Nick Lampson (Susan) of Beaumont, Texas; aunts, Frances Ann Breaux (Robert) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Donna Morgan Kay (Jimmy) of Sour Lake, Texas and a host of cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Julius and Nancy Lampson; maternal grandparents, Parker and Joyce Morgan; uncles, J.J. and Jimmy Lampson; and an aunt, Mary Jo Broussard Ford.

A funeral service, limited to family, will be on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM.  Pastor Jerry Snider will officiate the service and will be available on live stream for those interested in following.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to CCA Louisiana, an organization Daniel was a proud member of and supported their efforts in conserving the marine resources he so loved.  www.classy.org/give/329450/#!/donation/checkout
