Daniel “Danny” Ray LeJeune, Sr.
Daniel "Danny" Ray LeJeune, Sr. was born in Jennings on March 24, 1953, and passed away on December 29, 2021, due to complications from Covid-19 at a local hospital with his family at his side.
Danny was 68 years old and had been a brain cancer survivor since he was a young teen and graduated from Lacassine High School in ‘73. He was a former president of the Lake Charles CB Club. In his younger years he worked for Zigler Shipyard, Schlumberger, Marlin Drilling Company and Ardoin Construction. He more recently worked as a scaffold builder and equipment operator for Turner Industries for over 10 years. Danny enjoyed making others laugh and was known for his joking sense of humor which he has passed down to his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with family, cutting grass, tinkering in his shop, attending wrestling matches and Renaissance Festivals. Danny was also a devoted member and servant of Christ Community Church in Lake Charles, La. formerly known as 4th Avenue Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Darline (Duncan) LeJeune; his son, Daniel Ray LeJeune, Jr. (Amanda); daughter, DeAngela Edwards (Daniel); siblings, sister, Margie "Peachie" Reeves, brothers, Raphael "Tony" LeJeune (Denise) and David LeJeune (Kay); sister-in-law, Betty LeJeune; father-in-law, Dock Pierce; 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Jacelyn & Lukas LeJeune, Scott Ewing, Jr., Levi Edwards and 1 great grandchild Mila Rae LeJeune.
He is preceded in death by his parents Levi and Mercedes (Landry) LeJeune; a brother, James LeJeune, Sr.; brother-in-law, Jay Reeves; mother-in-law's, Lola Pierce, and Hazel Duncan; father-in-law, Stephen Lareid Duncan.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. in Christ Community Church, 2500 W. Prien Lake Road, Lake Charles, La. 70605.
Gathering of family and close friends will begin at 2:30 pm. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
Plants and gifts can be sent to the church. Donations for expenses can be made out to Darline LeJeune and sent to the church as well.
