Danny Trahan, 76, was welcomed into Heaven’s gates by his Lord and Savior and reunited with his beloved bride on April 9, 2026.
Danny was born on May 2, 1949, to David and Mary (Simon) Trahan in Lake Arthur, Louisiana. He spent his early years there before moving to Lake Charles to attend McNeese State University, later furthering his education at Louisiana State University.
He began his career in law enforcement with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, where he quickly distinguished himself, earning recognition and holding multiple records in marksmanship. He was especially known for his exceptional sharpshooting and quick-draw ability.
In 1972, Danny married the love of his life, Marie Hall Trahan, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love and devotion. After starting a family, he transitioned into the oilfield and later into refinery and industrial work, where his leadership and dedication led him to serve as an Executive Director of Environmental Health and Safety.
Following retirement, Danny returned to one of his greatest passions—law enforcement—and was recommissioned in 2018, continuing to serve with the same pride and commitment that defined his earlier career.
A true Louisiana native through and through, Danny found joy in hunting, fishing, golfing, cheering on his grandchildren in all their activities, watching LSU sports, hosting and cooking for those he loved. Above all, his greatest purpose and pride was his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Monica (Michael) Blanco; his son, Brett Trahan; his grandchildren, Brooke (Matthew) Taylor, Kaitlyn Trahan, Kade (Farrah) Pousson, Brylan Trahan, Ashton Trahan, Shae Stone, Keenan Landry, and Paitton Johnson; his great-grandchildren, Braxtyn, Elynne, Rae, Margeaux, and Rose. He is also survived by his siblings, Jim Trahan and Elaine Kirkland, along with many extended family members and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Marie Trahan; his parents, David and Mary Trahan; his special grandmother, Clemence Trahan; and his sister, Sherry Williams.
Visitation and services will be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, with a service to follow at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2026. An inurnment will conclude at Consolata Cemetery following the service.
