Danny Lewis Hillebrandt, 71, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026. He was born on October 11, 1954, in Jennings, Louisiana, to Lewis and Patricia Palmer Hillebrandt.

Danny served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Throughout his life, he was known as a hardworking man, using his skills as a pipe welder and mechanic by trade. He had a natural ability to work with his hands and a willingness to share what he knew with others.

A faithful member of The Sanctuary, Danny loved his church and attended faithfully. Music was an important part of his life, and he especially enjoyed playing harmonica and being part of the church band. His faith, his love for music, and his church family brought him great joy.

Danny was most at peace outdoors. Whether he was fishing, telling stories, spending time with family, or simply enjoying the quiet of nature, the outdoors was where he truly came alive. He also had a deep love for Doberman Pinschers, especially his beloved companion, "Peekaboo."

Danny, affectionately known as “Cornbread,” was much more than a brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend, teacher, and storyteller. He loved deeply, and he was deeply loved in return. His life will be remembered through the stories he told, the lessons he shared, the music he played, and the love he gave to those around him. May Danny's memory live on in the hearts of all who loved him, and may he rest in the peace of the Lord he faithfully served.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Angel, Nycole, and Mark; his grandchildren, Kendra, Devon, Demarcus, Alijah, and Desha; and his great-grandchildren, Bailee, Josiah, Nevaeh, Genesis, Willow, Ocean, Anola, and Alizah.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle; his parents, Lewis and Patricia Palmer Hillebrandt; and his brothers, Mike and Jimmy.

Danny will be laid to rest following a graveside service at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 29, 2026, in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 1610 Evangeline Road, Jennings, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in the Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur Chapel, 107 West Napoleon Street. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to The Sanctuary for their kindness to Danny. He truly loved his church family.
