Darleen Faye Landry, loving daughter, sister, mother, companion, and friend, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024, surrounded by her family, at the age of 61.
A graduate of Lacassine High School, Darleen was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play football, baseball and dancing. She especially enjoyed “gamblinin.” She was generous to all who knew her and would give you her last penny.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elie and Laura (Benoit) Landry; in-laws, Theo and Lillie Trahan Leger.
Survivors are her companion, Anthony “Tony” Leger; daughter, Mirandia Leger; siblings, Anna Landry, Debra Landry, Regina Landry, Tammy Landry Herrera, twin sister, Arleen Harmon (Donie), and Kimberly LeJeune (Parrish); uncle, Claude Landry; goddaughters, Heather Roussell, and Courtney Harmon; grandchildren, Leelan LeMaire, Lillie LeMaire, and Laisen LeMaire. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 10 a.m. Rev. Roland Vaughn, Celebrant. Burial will be in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation begins Tuesday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. and will resume Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
Pallbearers assisting in her service are Evan Petry, Leelan LeMaire, Donovan Harmon, Quentin Cormier, Travis Jacobs, Otis Jacobs, Steve Trahan, and Casey Miller. Honorary are Wendell Bourque, Matthew Bruchhaus, Arleen Harmon, Edward Herrera, Tammy Herrera, Richlynn Lafleur, Anna Landry, Claude Landry, Debra Landry, Regina Landry, Courtnei Langley, Laisen LeMaire, Lillie LeMaire, Bishop Lejeune, Caleb Lognion, and Michelle Warden.
We would like to thank her sisters for all the love and care they have given during her short battle with cancer.
