David J. Abshire, born in Kaplan on February 17, 1931, son of the late Theo Joseph and Emma Marie (Richard) Abshire, passed away December 9, 2023, at the age of 92.
Mr. Abshire was a talented musician and played the box guitar with Aldus Roger and the Lafayette Playboys. He owned a construction company for many years and enjoyed his 2 cats.
Mr. Abshire is survived by his children, Michelle M. Abshire; Randy Abshire; grandchildren, Tory Abshire; Josh Abshire; Devin Abshire; Erin Weeks; Katie Niles; Stephanie Abshire; sister, Willa Mae Wilder (E.C.) He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Troy Abshire, Larry Abshire and the mother of his children, Rose Abshire.
Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa and there are no formal services scheduled at this time.
