David Kurtz Palmgren

David Kurtz Palmgren, 68, of Lake Charles died at 5:44 AM on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 in his residence. Mr. Palmgren was born on December 19, 1946 in Nashville, TN, was raised in Lancaster, PA, and moved to Lake Charles more than 40 years ago. He was a graduate of Episcopal School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA and then graduated as a certified registered nurse anesthetist from Saint Joseph's in Lancaster, PA. Mr. Palmgren was employed at Lake Charles Anesthesia. Mr. Palmgren was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid fan of LSU. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Nancy Palmgren of Lake Charles; a son, David Palmgren of Lake Charles; a daughter, Erin Viator and Nathan of Bell City; his mother, Elaine Palmgren of Lake Charles; a sister, Angie Mambu and husband Dr. Joseph of Philadelphia, PA; an aunt, Barbara Hammon of Danville, PA; and three grandchildren, Emily Viator, Emma Treadway, and Ethan Viator. He was preceded in death by his father, Einar Palmgren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 3, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Charles Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume on Friday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
