David Lemoine Covert

David Lemoine Covert, 78, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016.  A native of Pennsylvania, David was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  While stationed at Chennault in Lake Charles he met his wife. He loved to fish, watch football and western movies.  David loved spending time with his family.  David previously was a self employed contractor working on mobile homes. 

David is survived by his children; Vickie Hantz of Westlake, Kathy Doucet of Sulphur, Eddie Covert and wife Natalie of Longville, William Covert and wife Nancie of Lake Charles, Mark Covert and wife Cindy of Sulphur and David Covert of Lake Charles; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one on the way; siblings; Florence “Sis” Dirckbichler, Helen Dennison, William L. Covert, Orrin Covert and Leroy Covert all of Pennsylvania; and sons in law Vince Traske, Randy Vallery and Martin Doucet.  David was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Joann Covert; daughters, Debbie Vallery and Nancy Traske; grandsons, Brandon Ross Bartlett and John David Vallery; and three sisters, Betty Covert, Edna Ruley and Dorthie Barger. 

Services for David will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 10 AM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur.  Burial will follow in Old Ritchie Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 3-8 pm at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Wednesday from 8 am until the time of service.
