David Jerry Woodlee, born December 5, 1944, passed peacefully from this earthly life on October 6, 2026, at the age of 81. He died quietly at home in his sleep.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose family was an important part of his life. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; two sons, Stacey (Deanna) of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, and Jason (Elaine) of Livingston, New Jersey; two stepdaughters, Kim (Barry) and Kelli (Kevin), both of Moss Bluff; one stepson, Brad (Carrie) of Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Iva Lee Woodlee; his wife, Judy Jones Woodlee; and his brothers, Ralph Woodlee, Gene Woodlee, and Gordon Woodlee.
Jerry attended First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff, where he faithfully served as a deacon from 1989 to 2000.
He was a highly respected lifelong Tennessee Walking Horse trainer and judge. His knowledge, dedication, and contributions to the sport earned him the respect of his peers and were widely recognized and celebrated throughout the industry.
Arrangements will be handled by First Baptist Moss Bluff. Chapel visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2026, with Reverend Lee Thomas, 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Service will begin at 1:00. Graveside service will be held directly after the service at New Ritchey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
