Iowa –Debra A. Bertrand, born in Lake Charles on February 18, 1962, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the age of 60.
Debra was a member of Waters Edge. She loved being outdoors, and spending time with her family, friends and beloved pets, Reesey and Bella. Debra retired from Barbe High School as head custodian.
Left to cherish wonderful memories of Debra are her mother, Shirline Hernandez and husband, Oreste; siblings, Tina Benoit, Angela Frederick and husband, Tony, Michelle Stewart, L. J. Stewart, and Robert Stewart; numerous nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Edward Stewart; son, Joseph Dawin Bertrand; companion, Kenneth Ardoin.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 11a.m. with Pastor Tony Bourque officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation is Tuesday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
