It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Debra Ann Landry, who left us on August 14, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on September 18, 1959, in Kinder, Louisiana, Debra was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She spent her life in the warm embrace of her family and community, residing in Iowa, Louisiana.
Debra proudly graduated from Lacassine High School, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with love and laughter. A devoted member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, her faith was a guiding force in her life, instilling in her a sense of family, community and compassion for others.
Over the years, Debra dedicated herself to her work as a cashier, gaining great joy during her time with Tommy, Vivian, and Glenn Priola. Her colleagues and customers alike cherished her friendly spirit and her infectious sense of humor, which often brightened the days of those around her. An avid player of cards, she loved gathering with family and friends, where her playful jokes and warm laughter filled the room. Debra took great pride in her cooking, generously sharing her delicious meals with others; she never hesitated to offer a helping hand to those in need.
Debra is survived by her loving sisters: Anna, Regina, Tammy Landry Herrera, Arleen Harmon (Donie), and Kimberly LeJeune (Parrish). She is also survived by her uncle and God father, Claude Landry. She leaves behind an extended family that includes numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who will carry forward her spirit of kindness and joy.
A memorial service in celebration of Debra's life will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 7:00 PM. A gathering will begin in the funeral home at 6:00 PM, with a rosary recited at 6:30 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather and share cherished memories of Debra.
In this time of loss, we remember Debra not only for her incredible spirit but for the love she shared freely with all. She will be deeply missed but forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Elie and Laura Landry, and her sister, Darleen Landry.
