Del Marie Johnson Babineaux, 76, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 in a Houston, TX hospital. Mrs. Babineaux was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She attended LaGrange High School and attained a Licensed Practical Nursing degree at Sowela Technical Institute. Mrs. Babineaux found great joy in caring for and helping others. She worked twenty five years in nursing, twenty years in Internal Medicine for Dr. Ron Futrell. She enjoyed crochet, canning, yard work and flower gardening. She was a woman of faith, a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, an Extra Ordinary Minister of Communion and Funeral Coordinator. Mrs. Babineaux will be most remembered for her overwhelming love and devotion to her husband, children, family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of fifty-eight years, Tom G. Babineaux of Lake Charles; daughter, Sue Cagle; son, Tommy Babineaux and wife Tammie; granddaughter, Kortnie Babineaux, all of Lake Charles; extended family, Marc Maes of Lake Charles and his children: Nolan Maes of Houston, TX and Logan Maes of Lake Charles; one sister, Marlene Koenekamp and husband Larry of Houston, TX and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Annie Mae Ardoin Johnson; five brothers, Wilfred, Willard, Edward, Henry and Arlen Johnson and son-in-law, David Cagle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 25, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Monsignor James Gaddy and Father Rueben Buller will officiate. Committal services will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Monday will be from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:30 PM. Visitation Tuesday will be from 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM in the funeral home.
