Della Joyce Bourque Mathieu

Della Joyce Bourque Mathieu, 91, of Moss Bluff passed away at 10:38 PM on Sunday, March 14, 2021 in a Dallas, TX hospital.

Mrs. Mathieu was born on January 19, 1930 in Grand Lake, LA and has lived in Moss Bluff since the late 1970’s.  She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God and the VFW Auxiliary #9933.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Maydella “Marie” Ciulla (Carl) of Moss Bluff; Max Mathieu (Cynthia) of Boys Village, Theresa Quam (Alan) of Nashville, TN, Bryan Mathieu (Diana) of Moss Bluff, and Sheila New (Dan) of Waxachie, TX; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mayance Mathieu; daughter, Erayna Fischer; parents, Phelnoes and Noah Bourque; siblings, Alvin, Julius, and JR Bourque; and a half sister, Delia Lee.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 19, 2021 in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff.  Pastor Gary Evers will officiate.  Burial will follow in Grand Lake Community Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 8:30 AM and continue until the start of the service.
