Dena Phillips Henry, born August 16 1962 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away after a lengthy illness in Covington on December 3, 2022, at the age of 60.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Henry of Lake Charles, LA; children, Melissa Roddy Burleigh of Sulphur, LA, Kristie Roddy of Lake Charles, LA; grandsons, Gavin & Gunner Burleigh, Jeromey & Henry Fontenot & Cutter Wolfe; brother, James (Janet) Phillips, Lake Charles, LA; sisters, Carol Fruge, Spring TX, Nancy Johnson, Dayton, TX, Renee (Glen) Dupre, Sweet Lake, LA, Nickie (Dane) Duhon, DeRidder, LA. She is preceded in death by her mother, Eva Phillips Guidry, father, Larry Phillips, stepfather, Noush Guidry, mother & father-in-law, Orford & Lucille Breaux, grandmother, Shirley Benoit, and brother, Paul Phillips.
She graduated in 1982 from Grand Lake High School. During her lifetime she worked at Kroger’s and as a dispatcher in trucking industry.
Dena was a loving, caring person. She always saw the good in everyone she met. Dena loved her time with her grandsons. She loved going to Disney World with her family and enjoyed being on the water fishing.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Lloyd Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in Benoit Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin in the funeral home on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and will resume Friday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
