Dennis P. Trahan, 62, passed away in a local hospital on Saturday, January 28, 2017.
Born in Kinder on December 27, 1954, Dennis was the son of the late Theodore and Vivian Marie (Humphrey) Trahan. He was a graduate of Iowa High School and attended Sowela Technical College. Dennis was a bus driver for the Jeff Davis Parish School Board. He thought of the kids that rode on his bus as his very own and was involved with the JDRC. He attended Victory Gospel Lighthouse in Jennings. In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed collecting things, gardening and animals.
He is survived by his children, Christopher Trahan (Kelley), Dean Trahan, Kira Darbonne (John) and Theodore Trahan, III (Brittany); sisters, Lula Belle “Beb” Oliver, Lillian Ardoin and Juanita McGill; grandchildren, Zane, Lacey, Kyle David, Taylor, Paul, Gabriella, Sydney, Elizabeth, Hannah, and Amethyst. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Theodore Trahan, Jr.
Visitation is Monday, January 30, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home and will resume Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services are Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Weishampel officiating. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery in Fenton under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
