Dennis Paul Bergeron, Sr.

Dennis Bergeron ,75, of Sulphur, LA passed away on December 8, 2022, in a local hospital. Dennis was born on October 11, 1947, in New Orleans, LA to Adam and Mary Bergeron.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3015 and Past Grand Knight for Vinton, Carlyss, and Sulphur. Dennis was of the Catholic Faith and was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. He served the Sulphur Community for over 20 plus years serving as the Director of Public Works for the City of Sulphur and served as a City Council Member for 4 years. Dennis also worked for Myers and Associates. He enjoyed fishing and cooking for people.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Gail Bergeron; one daughter, Tammy Newman and husband David; three grandchildren, Ryan Guidry (Lakyn), Andrew Guidry, and Alex Newman; one great grandchild, Reese Guidry; one brother, Mark Bergeron and (Sammie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Dennis “Big D” Bergeron Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Fr. Edward J.  Richard, M.S., V.F. will officiate services.
