Lake Charles – Dennis L. Reed, born May 10, 1960 in Kinder, son of Russell John Reed and Kathryn (Dronette) Clements, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019, at the age of 58.
Dennis enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He worked for Chennault in maintenance for many years.
Dennis is survived by his mother, Kathryn “Kitty” Clements of Lake Charles; son, Brendan Reed and wife, Jessica of Lake Charles; daughter, Jasmin Reed Femster of Hilton Head, SC; companion of 10 years, Theresa “Tessy” Simmons of Lake Charles; brother, George Reed of Lake Charles; 3 grandchildren, Drake Reed; Rowan Femster; Vince Michael Gonzales; mother of his children, Meryl-Sue Reed of Hilton Head, SC.
He is preceded in death by his father, Russell John Reed; siblings, Jimmy; Johnny; Judy; Larry; Joey.
A Celebration of life will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 1 p.m. Gathering of family and friends will begin Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation is under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
