It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Devin Clyde Cradeur, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, and friend, who departed this life on March 1, 2026, at the age of 42. Born on February 4, 1984, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Devin spent his life pursuing his passion for horses and ranching, leaving a legacy that will resonate through the lives he touched.
From an early age, Devin was captivated by horses, dedicating over 20 years to riding and training. He found joy in spending weekends working cows and lending a helping hand to friends. His love for the ranching lifestyle was evident in everything he did, from his impressive collection of bits to his legacy of 3D & DC horses known across the country, he was also a member of AQHA and USTRC. Devin was a man of great integrity, an honest man, his word was his bond, and his handshake meant everything.
Devin met his beloved wife, Brandy, at a team roping event in April 2007, and they exchanged vows on February 27, 2010. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Lily Grace, into the world on March 7, 2013, forever changing Devin's life in the most beautiful way. He took immense pride in teaching Lily to ride "the right way," and the two of them shared countless days riding pastures and checking fences. Although he stepped out of his comfort zone to become a basketball dad, his unwavering support for Lily's interests exemplified the depth of his love for her.
Devin had a warm spirit that brought joy to those around him. He loved to host friends for gatherings, often cooking in his barn and sharing laughter around the wood heater. His playful nature shone through as he entertained children with cartwheels and friendly races, always ready to cheer them on with a trademark laugh, reminding them that "a short fat bald man" could still beat them in a race.
Devin's spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, Brandy Cradeur; his adored daughter, Lily Grace Cradeur; his father, Darrell Cradeur (Cindy); siblings Dakota Cradeur, Sadie Cradeur, and Danny Miller (Ashley); and his grandmother, Lena Belle Cradeur.
A visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating Devin's life will take place at Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Following the service, Devin will be laid to rest at LeBleu Cemetery.
In this time of sorrow, we invite all who knew and loved Devin to come together to honor his memory and celebrate the vibrant life he lived. His kindness, humor, and passion for life will forever remain etched in our hearts.
Devin was preceded in death by his mother, Stephanie LeDoux, his paternal grandfather, Nelson Cradeur; his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Edmae Guillory LeDoux; his sister, Santana Miller.
