Dewey Lynn Lognion, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 17, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in Bell City, Louisiana, on April 28, 1944, Dewey dedicated his life to his family and his work as a skilled carpenter in the construction industry, notably with Russell Stutes Construction.
Dewey was a devout member of the Catholic faith, and his love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting and fishing. He enjoyed time spent gardening, nurturing both plants and relationships with those he held dear. His hands were always busy, whether he was crafting woodwork, raising cattle or tending to his yard, embodying the values of hard work and dedication.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda Lognion; his daughter, Stephanie Thibeaux (Chad); his son, Bryan Lognion (Renee); his brother, Alvin Lognion (Juanita); his sister, Brenda Courville (Clifton); and sister-in-law, Sandra Lognion. Dewey also cherished his grandchildren, Nicole Romero (Wade), Morgan Gill (Cade), Shelby LeJeune (Zack), Mason Lognion (Brandi) and 8 great grandchildren, who will carry on his legacy of love and resilience.
Dewey's life will be celebrated with a public viewing at Johnson & Brown Funeral home of Iowa on September 21, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a Rosary service at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9 am until 11 a.m. Funeral Services will be on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor and remember a man whose kindness and dedication touched so many lives.
Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, Femon and Eula Guillott Lognion; brother, Benny Lognion.
