Diana Rose Mitchell, 63, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Mitchell was a humble woman that was never materialistic. She enjoyed simple pleasures like watching the roses grow in her garden and even playing computer games. One of her favorite times of the year is when she got to sell peanut brittle to help the First Pentecostal Church of Vinton. Diana was a compassionate woman that always had time for her grandkids. Truly her happiest memories were with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Steven F. Mitchell; two sons, Steven D. Mitchell, and Preston Mitchell; two sisters, Ruth Bartrom and Ellen Dishong; four grandchildren, Chastity, Dylan, Christian, and Gabrielle; and two great-grandchildren, Romie and Ryker. She also leaves behind her dear friends, June Whitman, and Gaylon and Corine Nichols.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alcide and Esther Dougay; sisters, Lucille Dougay, Jean Dougay, and Linda Baccigaloppi; and brothers, Jimmy Dougay, Danny Dougay, Alcide Dougay, and John Dougay.
Her funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 11am Friday, August 26, 2016. Rev. David Dishong Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at 5pm until 8pm on Thursday, August 25th at the Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Friday morning at 9am until the start of the funeral service.
