Dianna Boykin

Dianna Guillory Boykin, 62, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 10:21 PM on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, in a local hospital.

Dianna was born September 23, 1956 in Lake Charles, LA and was a graduate of LaGrange High School and McNeese State University School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse and most recently worked with Hospice of Lake Charles.  Dianna was a loyal and dedicated RN to all of her patients from as close as our local Charity Hospital to the rural areas of Alaska.  She enjoyed volunteering her time with numerous community organizations.  Dianna was a past member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church.  She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend and as a master cook and an avid gardener.  The “Rock” of the family, she was always just a phone call away.

She leaves to honor her memory, her loving husband of 37 years, Frank Scott Boykin; two wonderful, awesome, sons, John Scott Boykin (Mindy) and Alex Neal Boykin; her mother, Deola Guillory; one brother, Robert Guillory; three sisters, Margie Newman, Debbie Gore, and Peggy Taylor; wonderful sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; granddog, Mouse.

Dianna was preceded in death by her father Wilfred Guillory.

Her memorial service will be held at 1:45 PM on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Monsignor Daniel Torres will officiate.  Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service with a rosary at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to McNeese Foundation for a nursing scholarship in Dianna’s name.  McNeese Foundation, Box 91989, Lake Charles, LA 70609, referencing Dianna Boykin in the memo line.
