Dianna Istre

Dianna V. Istre, 69, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.   Dianna retired from West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital as a LPN.  She loves to cook and to teach her babies how to cook.  She also loved to sew.  Dianna was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Her favorite saying about herself was, “I may have been a headache but I was never a bore.” 

Dianna is survived by her children, Traci McKnight and husband, Joey and Matthew Istre; her grandchildren, Ashli McKnight, Shelbi McKnight, Dylan Istre, Kaytlan Istre and Ty McKnight; her great grandchildren, Addysyn Landry and Kaisen Deshotel; her mom, Anna Jean Vaussine; her sisters, Melba Thibodeaux, Mary Kate Corbello and Margaret Sprague; her brothers, Rudy Vaussine and Luke Vaussine; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Pee Wee” Istre, her father, Armand (Te Te) Vaussine; and two brothers, Odrey Vaussine and Mitchell Vaussine.

Services for Dianna will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 1 PM at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church with Father Andrews Kollannoor, M.S. officiating.  Burial will follow in Big Woods Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 4-9 PM with a rosary at 6 PM and will resume on Thursday from 8 am until time to leave for the church.
