Dianna Marie Roy Desselle

October 8, 1941 — January 1, 2024

On January 1, 2024, our loving Mother, Grand & Great Grandmother, Dianna Marie Roy Desselle known as “Granny” passed away while at home.  She was a remarkable soul who graced this world for 82 years.  Her legacy echoes through the lives she touched with kindness, grace, and unwavering love shown to all.

Mrs. Desselle was a native of Mansura, LA where she was born of Curtis Roy and Mildred (Jack) Durand. She met the love of her life Ray K Desselle and was married for 60 years.  The need for employment and growing a family brought them to Sulphur, in the lates 60s.  As a loving wife she raised her 3 children – Jill of Irvington, AL, Jack (Colleen) and Miles (Cindy) of Sulphur, LA.  From those offsprings came 6 grandchildren, and 4 Great-Grands.

Dianna approached every endeavor with dedication and integrity. Beyond her accomplishments, it was her kindness and generosity that truly defined her character.

As a devoted Catholic she attended OLPS where she served on the Alter Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #1255 for service over 50 years.  As a CDA she held several local and state Officer positions.

Her love for fun kept her going with her Pokeno Group of over 40 years, hosting her last game on December 14th.  As a seamstress and quilter, she made many of dresses, blankets, and quilts from family to friends and the stillborn.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Dianna’s life at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur, LA, on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 1 PM with Deacon Patrick LaPoint officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Our Lady’s School in her honor.

As we bid farewell to Dianna “Granny”, may her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration. In our hearts, she will forever reside, a beacon of love and cherished moments that time cannot erase.  May she find eternal peace, and may her spirit continue to shine in the hearts of those she was fortunate to touch.
