Dolores Ann Langlinais Primeaux of Lake Charles entered her eternal rest on January 17, 2019 at 9:30 PM in a local hospital. She was born and raised in Cow Island, LA, where she graduated from E. Broussard High School in 1953.
Dolores married John E. Primeaux in 1954 and they eventually moved to Lake Charles where she worked as a homemaker, a licensed beautician, and at Pauline’s Sportswear. She enjoyed league bowling for over fifty years, playing Bingo, Pokeno, and card games with her many dear friends. They were long-time members of St. Margaret Catholic Church and recently began attending mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Chapel.
Dolores was known as “Granny” to her family and “Dee” to her closest friends. Known to many as “The World’s Best Cook”, the secret ingredient of her incredible dishes was LOVE.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, John E. Primeaux, and her children, daughter Carleen Mattingly (Phillip) of Port Neches, TX, son Jonathan Primeaux (Debbie) of Lake Charles, and son Jody Primeaux of Lake Charles. Also she leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren who were the center of her universe.
Dolores was preceded in death by her father, Wally “Pete” Langlinais and mother, Edmay Hebert Langlinais. Also her brother, Calvin “Papoo” “Bose” Langlinais.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor Daniel Torres will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday at the funeral home from 8:00 AM to 10:15 AM.
