Dolores “Doe” Ann (Leger) Westbrook, 83, passed away on December 5, 2025, in Mont Belvieu, Texas, with her daughter by her side. She was born on June 10, 1942, in Sulphur, LA, and lived there for 79 years. She worked 34 plus years for the Calcasieu Parish School Board. She started as a cafeteria worker and then worked as a bus aide. She loved all the children on the bus as if they were her own grandchildren. Doe also worked at Walmart for years where she never met a stranger. Everyone called her “Doe.” She loved sitting in the rocking chair on the porch watching the birds and butterflies while drinking a “Doe’s Special” (Amaretto sour) or a cherry coke. Doe had a sweet tooth and loved blue bell ice cream. She also loved soft peppermints and always had some in her pocket to offer to anyone she ran into. Doe loved to listen to all the country oldies, but her favorite was Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. Doe always had a smile and loved to joke around. She will be missed by all.
Doe is survived by her children, Brigid Whetnall, Doreen Manak and husband, Paul and Davy Westbrook and wife, Chris; grandchildren, Jason Whetnall, Malary Whetnall, Tyler Carter, Damon Frye, Derek Frye, Dustin Frye, Devin Manak, Drake Manak, Charlie Westbrook, Jordan Westbrook, and JP Westbrook; and multiple great grandchildren.
The family of Doe will have a gathering on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur from 5-7 PM. We invite all to come and celebrate the life of Doe.
