Don Gregory Anderson

Don Gregory Anderson, 72, of Lake Charles passed away at 5:52 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2026 in a local care facility.

Born on October 21, 1953, in Lake Charles, he was a lifelong resident of the community he loved and called home. He graduated from LaGrange High School in 1971 and continued his education at McNeese State University, studying in the School of Business.

He built a long and respected career with PPG Industries, where he worked as a professional buyer and earned his Certified Purchasing Agent designation. His strong work ethic, integrity, and keen sense of fairness were hallmarks of both his professional and personal life.

Outside of work, he enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him joy. He was an avid duck hunter and fisherman, a devoted advocate of McNeese football, and a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. Whether outdoors, cheering on his favorite team, or spending time with those he loved, he was fun-loving and genuine.

Those who knew him will remember his kindness, his fairness, his keen sense of humor, and his unwavering strength. He faced a long-time illness with remarkable courage and grace, never once complaining about what he was going through.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Jackie Anderson; sister, Phyllis Litton (William); brothers-in-law, Belton Thibodeaux (Diane) and Carl Thibodeaux (Jennifer); nieces and nephews, Melissa Thibodeaux, Christopher Thibodeaux (Amanda), Andrew Thibodeaux (Laniar), Taylor Thibodeaux (Grace), and Brandon Stutes; and great nieces and great nephews, Estell, Molly, Clair, Anderson, Hannah, Abigail, Landon, and Jack Thibodeaux, and Natalie Browning (Ethan).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zelda and Robert Daniel Anderson and brothers, Robert Gerard and Clayton Patrick Anderson.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 18, 2026 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Lake Charles. Deacon Anthony Pousson will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM.
