Don Allen Hargrove

Don Allen Hargrove, 79, of Moss Bluff, passed away on February 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Originally from Oakdale, Don was born to Mathew Leon Hargrove and Claudine Thigpen Hargrove of Oakdale, Louisiana.

In his early years, he proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years, where he was stationed in Germany. Don worked for Gulf South Pipeline for over 30 years as a corrosion technician. He regularly attended Saint Theodore Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Don was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed watching his New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. He also enjoyed playing golf and doing yardwork. Don was a very kind-hearted and humble man, always willing to give a helping hand to those in need.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rita Vidrine Hargrove; his three children, Christine Heller of Lake Charles, Matthew Hargrove of Moss Bluff, and Eric Hargrove (Kimberly Davy) of Sulphur; his grandchildren, Joshua Heller of Moss Bluff, Sage Hargrove, Hattie Hargrove, and Millie Koss of Sulphur; his brother-in-law, Olin Ballard; nieces Debbie Ballard, Tonya Peloquin, Amanda, Bethany, Alyssa, and Bella, all of Lake Charles; and his nephew, TJ Ballard of North Carolina.

A funeral Mass for Don will take place on Friday February 20, 2026 at 2:00pm at St. Theodore's Catholic Church in Moss Bluff. A graveside service will follow at New Ritchie Cemetery. Visitation will take place the same day starting at 10am at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff with a Rosary at 11:30am.
