Donald Burk

August 3, 1931 — January 31, 2018

Donald Ray Burk, 86, has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior.  Born August 3, 1931, in Blackwell, OK, he passed away at home in Moss Bluff, LA on January 31, 2018.  He was a devoted husband to his wife of over 67 years, Anita Sue, and was truly striving to take care of her until the end of their days.  His three daughters and one son could not have asked for a better father.  Incredibly determined and hard working, he provided his family a wonderful life full of opportunities that he never had.  After moving his family to Louisiana from Oklahoma, he worked for Continental Oil Company where he was employed for over 30 years.  He also had a clever sense of humor, but you had to pay attention.

After a recommitment to serve Christ at age 28, Donald faithfully and tirelessly served in church and in the community-teaching Sunday School, Royal Ambassadors, Seaman’s ministry, building and grounds maintenance, volunteering for Sunday morning nursing home services, coaching girls softball, mission trips and a myriad of activities involving his family and church.

Donald was blessed by God with a rich and full life and is survived by his wife, Anita Sue; children, Deborah Clark of Shedd, OR, DeDe Cranford (Kim) of Kingwood, TX, Teresa Savoca (Chris) of Lafayette, LA and Randall Burk of Irving, TX.  He was quite proud of his 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Sarah Moore Burk; two brothers, Loran Burk and Merle Burk and his son-in-law, Jim Clark.

A celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Tom Hebert Road Baptist Church.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.  A private inurnment will be held at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South.

Friends may make memorial donations to Tom Hebert Road Baptist Church or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
