Donald “Don” Dean Hill, born in Butler, Missouri on May 15, 1937, son of the late Lennie Charles and Violet Marie (Withrow) Hill, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020, at the age of 83.
Don was a member of Christ Community Church for over 60 years.
He worked for Pumpelly Tire for over 30 years and retired from Southern Tire Mart. He served in the United States Army. Don was the voice of the LaGrange Gators for many years and enjoyed cheering for the LSU Tigers, McNeese Cowboys and the Barbe Bucs.
He is preceded in death by his parents and mother of his children, Wanda Gay Crisler.
Don is survived by his 3 daughters, Donna Hathway (Robert) of Brooksmith, Texas; Ronda Ross (Mark) of Temple, Texas and Deanne Abshire (Michael) of Lake Charles; brother, Charles Wayne Hill (Sandy) of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Layne Beard (April); Bryant Cormier; D. J. Warwick (James); Lori Lynn Beard; Chris Ross; Caleb Abshire; Nicholas Abshire; great-grandchildren, Emily Cormier; Bailey Beard; Paitynn Beard; Leo Beard.
Funeral services will be held in Christ Community Church, 2500 W. Prien Lake Road, Lake Charles, on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 1 p.m. Dr. Rick McClain, officiant. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin in the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
