Donald Dewey Stailey, 79, passed away on December 5, 2016 at the South West Louisiana Veterans Home.
Mr. Stailey was born in Earlsboro, OK and raised in Seminole, OK. Around 1956 he moved to Lake Charles while enlisted with the US Air Force. Mr. Stailey then spent his life as a master mechanic and worked for Collins Toyota. Using his mechanical skills he took up an interest in airplanes. Most of all, Donald loved his family, especially his grandkids.
Mr. Stailey leaves to cherish his name a son, Donald P. Stailey (Jennifer) of Moss Bluff; daughter, Tammy Adams (Steve) of Vidor, TX; two sisters, Francie Morris (Doug) of OK, and Mary Jane Hampton (Doyle) of KS; five grandchildren, Aaron (Camille), Mark, Brittany Adams, Jessica Reeves, and Ashley (Tommy) Buckner; and six great-grandchildren, Grant Adams, Andon and Kennadi Reeves, Breelie, Hallie, and Brock Buckner.
He is preceded in death by his wife of over fifty years, Evelyn Faye Benoit Stailey; parents, Dewey Page Stailey and Paralee “Susie” H. Harwell; and his brother, Ronald Stailey.
A funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 3 pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Cremation will follow the service. Rev. Steve Adams and Rev. Aaron Adams will officiate. Visitation will begin at 1 pm until the start of the service Wednesday afternoon.
