Donald Savoy was born on December 3rd, 1946 to Clovis and Viola Andrepont Savoy in the Eunice Hospital and died on April 10th, 2017. I started school in Church Point, LA., before moving to Lake Charles in the mid 1950’s. I graduated from Landry Memorial High School in 1964. I met the love of my life, Judy Daley, in high school we were married on May 29, 1965 after my first year in college. We graduated from McNeese State University in Engineering in 1971. We have been Roman Catholics our entire life.
We started our Engineering Career with AMF Tuboscope in Houston for two years and ended it by being employed by PPG for the next 30 years. During my time at PPG, Judy and I worked in France for over four years and in West Virginia for three years. We retired in 2003. Judy and I traveled to all of Western Europe and many countries in the Eastern bloc, while in France. We traveled many parts of the world before and since retirement. We also traveled to all fifty states and have found that the most beautiful places and people are here in the United States of America. God bless America and our Veterans.
I enjoyed life to the fullest and would not change anything in the past. I would do it all over again. I was a very funny person and quick on my feet with short somewhat related comments during a conversation, like “I knew a gal like that once”! And many others like, “I never smoked, drank, or chased women, I just lie a little”. Sorry Father! I guess some would say I enjoyed teasing people, especially, family, kids and friends. I never forget anything! Oh, don’t forget the “douche powder”!
I want everyone to remember ONLY the good, happy, and funny times in my life as we had many. I was preceded in death by my beautiful granddaughter Rebecca Aidan Savoy.
I leave behind all my good times to be remembered to my wonderful wife of 52 years, Judy, my three kids Paul (Carrie), Tommy (Karie) and Susie Lytle (Troy), my eleven grand kids, five great grand kids and the rest of our family and friends. Keep smiling and laughing, see you later - somewhere!
