Donald James Manuel, born in Kinder, Louisiana on February 2, 1947, son of the late Whitney and Esther (Langley) Manuel, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at the age of 75.
Donald served in the U. S. Army from March 2, 1964 until February 24, 1967. He volunteered for two tours in Vietnam. He was a mechanic by trade and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He attended Church of the Promise.
Donald is survived by his wife of 32 years, Melissa Manuel; children, Michelle Warden, John Manuel, Eric Manuel (Marie), Meloney Cormier, and April Manuel; siblings, Gene Manuel (Grace), and Alton Manuel; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. Pastor Dwayne Daigle, officiant. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery in Fenton under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa with military honors. Visitation begins Sunday in the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and will resume Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Pallbearers assisting in his service are John Manuel, Hunter Manuel, Hunter Guillory, Ayden Witzell, David Coffman, and Jeremy Stanley. Honorary will be Devon Manuel, and Austin Witzell.
