Donald Ray Simon

Donald Ray Simon, 76, passed away on September 23, 2024 in Lake Charles, LA. He was born on September 17, 1948 in Crowley, LA to Woodley and Rita Viator Simon.

Don was a resident of Lake Charles. He graduated from Marion HighSchool and later in life earned a Bachelor’s Degree from McNeese State University. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy and served on the USS Independence. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 40 years of service.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his beloved wife of 54 years, Lois Dartez Simon; sons, Jerry Simon and Jeff Simon; daughter, Kelly Simon Kimball; siblings, Woodley Simon, Sarah Boudreaux, Laura Henry, and Lynda Simon; grandchildren, Tyler Kimball, Cameron Kimball, Tanner Simon, Logan Simon, and Jaxon Simon. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 27, 2024, in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
