Donald Marshall Sistrunk

Donald Marshall Sistrunk, 75, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026. He was born on September 7, 1950, in Ruston, Louisiana, to Gloria Odom and William Marshall Sistrunk.

Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army as a medic during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated 31 years of employment to PPG before retiring.

A man of deep and unwavering faith, Donald was a founding member of Moss Bluff Assembly and faithfully served as a member and deacon at Glad Tidings Church for the past 34 years. His love for the Lord was evident in the way he lived and served others.

Donald had a passion for aviation and was an active pilot who even had his own private airport at home. He loved working on his land, always finding a new project to tackle. Known for his willingness to lend a helping hand, Donald was generous with his time and talents. He was an incredible storyteller and above all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends, who were the greatest blessing of his life.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 53 years, Darlene Kay McCain Sistrunk; his sons, Brandon Sistrunk and wife, Kristi, and Mark Sistrunk and wife, Katie; and his cherished grandchildren, Brenton, Alyse, Sarah, James, and Andrew.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Gloria Odom and William Marshall Sistrunk, and his sister, Gloria "Jeanie" Miller.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, and will resume on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Donald will be laid to rest at Mitchell Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
