Donald Wayne “Don” Curphy, 83, of Lake Charles passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 in the comfort of his home.
Mr. Curphy was born October 26, 1933 to Wallie and Erma Curphy in Marshalltown, IA. He was a graduate of Montour High School and worked most of his life as a Salesman and business owner. Having lived in San Antonio, TX, Lake Charles, LA and Greeley, CO, throughout his career, he made Lake Charles his retirement home. Mr. Curphy enjoyed his younger years flying as a licensed amateur pilot and his later years, traveling the countryside by RV. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He will be most remembered for his sense of humor.
He leaves to honor his memory, two sons, Trenton Wayne Curphy and wife Gena of Kingwood, TX and Kallen Wayne Curphy and fiancé Cindy of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Tara Curphy Sterling, Sara Curphy, Garett Curphy, and Lesley Curphy; two brothers, Walt Curphy and Clayton Curphy and two sisters, LouElla Kittle and Evelyn Schuler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; a son, Shawn Wayne Curphy and grandson, Hunter Wayne Curphy.
In respect of his wishes, Mr. Curphy’s services were private.
