Donna Gillard

Donna Gillard, 65, passed away on October 1, 2025, in a local hospice facility after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Donna worked in the cafeteria at Maplewood and W. T. Henning and also at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital. She loved going to concerts, knitting, sewing and crocheting baby blankets for her nieces and nephews. Donna’s favorite trips were with her son to New Orleans in 2018 for WrestleMania and to Las Vegas for her 59th birthday to see Aerosmith. Donna’s grandbabies were her pride and joy.

Donna is survived by her son, Wade Gillard and wife, Emily; two grandchildren, Kate and Benjamin; siblings, JoAnn Guidry, Terry Veillon and wife, Jackie, Sherline Veillon, Gerald Veillon and wife, Deidre, and Angie Welsh and husband, David; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mary Veillon and her sister, Jackie Frye.

Services for Donna will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 2 PM at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 5-8 PM and on Saturday from 12 PM until the time of service.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Harbor Hospice Facility for the loving care given to Donna.
