Donnie "Don" Davis

Iowa- Don Davis, 68, a loving father, paw paw and husband, passed away in a local hospital Tuesday, September 23, 2014.
Born in Mississippi on July 7, 1946 to the late Otis and Virgie Smith Davis, graduated from Oak Grove High School and attended college in California. He joined the U. S. Army & U. S. Navy and served for 4 years. He moved to Louisiana and married Lorelle Marcantel. He served as a sheriff’s deputy & police juror for Jeff Davis, and a truck driver for Superior Oil. Don also drove a school bus for the Jeff Davis Parish School Board. He owned & operated his oilfield trucking service for numerous years. Don also served with the Buller Volunteer Fire Department and was the past president of the Lion’s Club of Lake Charles.
He is survived by his wife, Lorelle Davis; sons, Eric Miller (Tammie) of Iowa, Bobby Miller (Connie) of Welsh, John Davis of Sulphur and Mike Davis of Hattiesburg, MS; daughter, Mary Davis of Hattiesburg, MS; brother, Emmit Davis of the Philippines; sister, Bonnie Yawn (Emmit) of Hattiesburg, MS; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
