Dori Robinson

June 9, 1948 — May 16, 2024

Dori Musseau Robinson, 75, of Lake Charles, died on Thursday May 16, 2024, at Ochsner-LSU Medical Center in Shreveport following an extended illness with her husband at her side.

Dori was a graduate of Florida State University with a BS in Mathematics Education and a minor in Theatre Art. She taught High School math for a number of years before enter computer programing and analysis, where she worked for various companies over a period of 25 years. She specialized in mainframe and PC programing.

Dori met the love of her life, Paul Robinson, in New Orleans in 1982. They were married in Moss Bluff in 1984 Following their marriage, she and Paul moved around the country, from Lake Charles to New Jersey, to Jacksonville, Florida, back to New Orleans, to New Mexico, to Houston and finally settling in Lake Charles in 2011. Dori was a highly creative, outgoing person who enjoyed being around others and a part of her community. She was a member of the Enterprise Club , the Twelfth Night Revelers, the “Lady Bugs” water aerobics group at Our Lady Queen of Heaven, sang in the choir at Saint Martin de Porres as well as participating in the Relay for Life events and art clubs.

An incredibly talented, but modest artist, Dori made creations from all media of art. She made cards for all occasions as original art. She gave her original watercolors and oil paintings she gifted her friends, which have proud and prominent spaces in many homes throughout the lake area. She drew inspiration from her excursions with Paul and her friends by traveling the back roads in SW Louisiana. She most loved her beloved dogs, which through her 42 years with her husband she had many.. Although she always was her own harshest critic, her art had a realistic character from the life like colors of the crabs she painted, to the expressions on her four-footed family.

She was a parishioner of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church and a homemaker. She always helped her friends and was the one to deal with any electronic issues, from telephones to televisions, and was normally able to remedy any issue in no time at all.

If you ask any of her many friends around the country about Dori the almost universal remark would be “what a sweet lady”. A recent post she did was “The last few years have taught me that when it is our time to leave this world no one can stop it. We have one life to live. The material things we invest in are left behind only to be discarded. Memories are important to me.”. She was lovd and most certainly will be missed by the many people whose life she touched. Memories!

Dori was preceded in death by her parents, Delpha Paul and Rose David Musseau as well as numerous beloved furry, four legged companions. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 40 years, Paul Robison and her two canine children, Toby and Callie, as well as numerous friends and extended family of the heart.
