Doris Batchelor Giles

Doris Batchelor Giles, 77, of Sulphur, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Harbor Hospice. She was born July 11, 1949, in Springhill, Louisiana, to Ray and Dorothy Batchelor.

Together with her husband, Gary, Doris owned and operated Giles Construction for more than 30 years. She earned a master's degree in psychology from McNeese State University, worked as a broker with A.G. Edwards, and spent time at a clinic helping people in need of therapy and care.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Kirk Giles (Lisa) and Kevin Giles, both of Sulphur; her brother, Johnny Batchelor; and her four grandchildren, twins Amelia and Adeline, and Makailyn and Kenner.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gary Giles, and her parents, Ray and Dorothy Batchelor.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur, followed by funeral services at 12:00 PM. A private burial will follow at a later date. Words of comfort for the family may be left at www.johnsonfuneralhome.net.
